Professional Chimney Sweep Services

Professional Chimney Sweep Services, accredited by the Guild of Master Chimney Sweeps, based in the Cotswolds and surrounding areas.

Sweeping of Small & Medium Open Fires and Lined Stoves, Large Open Fires and Unlined Stoves, all types of Woodburner and Multifuel Stoves, Inglenooks with Open Fireplaces, Inglenooks with Unlined Stoves.  Also providing services such as Bird’s Nest Removal, Stove Safety Checks and Landlord & Homeowner Certificates.

We pride ourselves on doing a ‘clean sweep’ meaning that there is no need to empty your room of furniture and other items in fear of having them covered in soot.  We capture  the soot within the fireplace and then carefully removed it from the property.

We only need a space of around 2 x 2m in front of your fireplace to work and we lay thick soot sheets to ensure we keep your room as clean as it was when we arrived.  We use a full range of accredited techniques to provide the best service possible and ensure that your chimney or flue is clean and safe for use when we leave.

Many thanks, Alisdair Hedworth – Business Owner.

At Wychwood Stoves we are trained and accredited by the Guild of Master Chimney Sweeps, the UK’s premier trade association for professional chimney sweeps.  You can view our Guild Profile Page at www.findachimneysweep.co.uk.

Having trained to the highest professional standards, you can be sure that you are receiving a first rate service from a Sweep who really understands the trade and knows how to employ a range of different leading techniques to ensure that your chimney or flue is clear and safe for use.

It is absolutely essentially that as a solid fuel user (wood or coal) you have your chimney swept at least once per year although it can often be recommended that this is done more regularly depending on the fuel you use and the frequency of use.  Not having your chimney swept regularly by a competent person means that you are putting both your property and those in it at risk.  This could be for a number of reasons, including but not limited to;

  • A build up of creosotes in the chimney causing a chimney fire.
  • Chimney restrictions due to soot/tar/creosote build up.
  • Birds nesting within your chimney or flue causing blockage.
  • Chimney/flue draught not adequate to draw the products of combustion from the building.
  • Room ventilation not adequate to draw the products of combustion from the building.
  • Carbon Monoxide related illness/death due to an unserviceable or poorly installed solid fuel appliance.

Our upmost priority at all times is maintaining high standards of safety, so that when we leave your household following our visit, you can be absolutely certain that your open fire or appliance is safe to use.

Woodburner & Multifuel Installations

We are a trained and registered HETAS installation business.  This means that we have the skills and professional knowledge to either install a brand new stove in your home in a previously empty space, or adapt your current stove installation or old fireplace (including old gas and electric installations) into a brand new professionally fitted and commissioned solid fuel appliance.

Professional Chimney Sweep Services

We are trained and registered with the Guild of Master Chimney Sweeps.  It is absolutely essentially that you use a well trained and accredited professional Chimney Sweep, as poor chimney care is the main cause for unsafe situations occurring whilst using your woodburner or multifuel stove.  Both HETAS and the Guild recommend you have your chimney or flue swept at least once a year.

Chimney Care & Maintenance

Your chimney and flue will require occasional maintenance and it is important to keep an eye on the condition of this part of your home in order to stay safe.  We are able to provide a wide variety of chimney care services, whether this be adjustments or rectification to your chimney stack, fitting a new chimney pot or cowl or the relining of your chimney.
