Chimney Care & Maintenance

Chimney Care & Chimney Maintenance Services, ensuring that your chimney is safe and serviceable for use.

Providing all aspects of chimney care, including; Safety Surveys, CCTV Inspections, Constructional Rectification to your Fireplace Chamber, Chimney Breast, Chimney Stack or Chimney Pot, Maintenance of Chimney Brickwork, Flaunching and Flashing, Fitting of Birdguard and Rainguard Cowls, Assessing and Rectifying issues with Downdraught or Smoke Spillage.

Like any part of your home, your chimney occasionally needs maintenance, usually due to soot and creosote build-ups or weather erosion and bird/animal issues.

Thankfully, as chimneys are traditionally the most solid part of a building, maintenance requirements are fairly low, however when it is needed, it is important to have the work done by a professional.

We offer a wide range of chimney care and maintenance services to ensure that your chimney remains a safe and serviceable part of your building.

Many thanks, Alisdair Hedworth – Business Owner.

There are a wide range of issues that can arise when a flue or chimney is not suitably maintained.  Quite often it is the case that homeowners and tenants don’t realise that there is anything wrong with their chimney until they begin to see some kind of negative effect, whether this be a spillage of smoke either internally or externally (where it’s not supposed to be seen) or it can be moisture ingress from a non-weather sealed stack, along with a range of other issues.

When you do see the negative effects of something not being quite right with your chimney, it is very important not to ignore it and certainly not to keep using it until a professional has been able to assess what the problem is.  Continuing to use a flue or chimney that is in a poor condition is a recipe for disaster and can ultimately lead to the worst possible outcomes should the problem develop into an unsustainable situation (i.e. blocked flues causing carbon monoxide poisoning, chimney fires spreading to the rest of the building, collapsed stacks crashing through the building, etc).

If you do have concerns about your flue or chimney, please contact us and we will happily come to take a look and discuss the issues with you in order to assess what, if any, maintenance work may be required.

Woodburner & Multifuel Installations

We are a trained and registered HETAS installation business.  This means that we have the skills and professional knowledge to either install a brand new stove in your home in a previously empty space, or adapt your current stove installation or old fireplace (including old gas and electric installations) into a brand new professionally fitted and commissioned solid fuel appliance.

Professional Chimney Sweep Services

We are trained and registered with the Guild of Master Chimney Sweeps.  It is absolutely essentially that you use a well trained and accredited professional Chimney Sweep, as poor chimney care is the main cause for unsafe situations occurring whilst using your woodburner or multifuel stove.  Both HETAS and the Guild recommend you have your chimney or flue swept at least once a year.
